PBR Bud Light Cup DeWalt Challenge - Baltimore, MD

Friday, September 20, 2002
Lance Bradshaw sustained a brief loss of consciousness when his head struck the bull's head during his ride. He competed Saturday.

Chad Brennan tore ligaments in his left (riding) hand during his ride. He competed Saturday, but is questionable for Columbus.

Saturday, September 21, 2002
Cody Custer sprained the ulnar collateral ligament of his left (riding hand) thumb during his ride. He is probable for Columbus.

Cody Hart bruised his left heel when was stepped on after being thrown from his bull. He is competing.

Tony Mendes sprained his left ankle twisting it as he dismounted his bull. He competed in the short round.

Chris Shivers sustained a concussion with brief loss of consciousness when his head struck the ground as he was thrown from his bull. He did not compete in the short round, but is probable for Columbus.

Brent Vincent broke his left ankle (lateral malleolus) when he was stepped on after he was thrown from his bull. He was x-rayed at Baltimore's Shock Trauma Hospital and splinted. He is to undergo surgery this week to stabilize the fracture. He is out for Columbus, but is probable for the PBR Finals.

Short go round

Chad Castillo bruised his left shoulder when he was struck by the bull's horn after he was thrown off. He is competing.

Reuben Geleynse tore ligaments (ACL, LCL) in his right knee when twisted it dismounting his bull. He has returned home to Canada and will undergo an MRI this week. He is out for Columbus and doubtful for the PBR Finals.

Claudeny Dos Santos sustained a left hip pointer when he was struck by the bull's horn after being thrown off. He is probable for Columbus.

Owen Washburn sustained abrasions of his right (free) hand and bruises of his right forearm when he was stepped on as he was hung up to his bull after completing his ride. He is probable for Columbus.



HEALTHSOUTH Injury Update
Rider Injury Updates
Jason Bennett is out with a left shoulder (free arm) dislocation requiring surgery on March 27 at HEALTHSOUTH in Dallas. He is expected to be back in Columbus, OH.
Gilbert Carrillo underwent surgery in Dallas for a broken neck sustained in Nashville. He is expected to be out 3-6 months.

Paulo Crimber is out with an open (compound) fracture of his left (free) arm above the elbow sustained in Nashville. He underwent emergency surgery to clean out the wound and place a rod in the humerus. He is expected to be out 3-12 months.

Dusty LaBeth is out with a groin and lower abdominal strain sustained in Oklahoma City. He underwent surgery September 18 and is expected to be out three months.

Adriano Moraes is out with a left (riding arm) elbow dislocation and median nerve injury sustained at a Challenger event in Thief River Falls, MN. He underwent emergency surgery in Minnesota to relocate the elbow and underwent surgery by Dr. Hugh "Bo" Frederick to explore the nerve and remove scar tissue in Dallas on September 12. He has made excellent progress and is possible for the PBR Finals.

Tater Porter sprained his left (free arm) shoulder in Jacksonville. He underwent surgery at HEALTHSOUTH in Dallas on July 31. He is expected to be out for three months.

Mike White injured his low back in Laughlin aggravating an old stress fracture of his 5th lumbar vertebrae. He is probable for Columbus.

Lee Akin is competing with a sprained left rib (costovertebral joint) sustained in Reno when he landed hard on his buttocks.
Reuben Geleynse is competing with a sprained left knee sustained at a Challenger event in Pennsylvania in August.
J.W. Hart is competing with a probable 4th lumbar vertebrae transverse process fracture sustained in Reno.
Dan Henricks is competing with a broken right wrist (free hand) sustained in Guthrie
Cory McFadden is competing with a sprained left foot sustained just prior to Baltimore.
Cory Rasch is competing with a right knee medial collateral ligament sprain sustained at a Challenger event.
Billy Robinson is competing with a sprained right foot sustained at the Challenger event in Pendleton and a bruised left calf sustained in Laughlin.
Dave Samsel is competing with strained chest wall muscle on his right side (rides right handed) sustained in Reno.
